Some Texas Truths
Texas is a country all its own. There really is no particular way to describe it
because It’s so different. It's the vast variety that makes Texas what it is.
There is something here for everyone. Mountains, plains, streams, forests,
coast, desert, canyons, snow, sunshine. It's not only the physical attributes
that make Texas what it is, it’s the people. Texas is one of the FEW states where
genteel manners are still alive and well! The rich amount of history that has
occurred here has had a major impact on making Texas what it is. If someone were
to ask me why I love Texas so much, I just wouldn't be able to explain it all.
It's a combination of the people, the landscape, the weather, the history...the
sheer beauty of the state. Many people would not be able to understand this but
only fellow Texans can. I guess it's just a Texas thing, Y’all
wouldn't understand! In order to help those who are not fortunate enough to be Texans, and for Texans like me who like seeing
things like this in print, I've tried to list several special things about Texas throughout my pages.
Did you know the State Capitol was built in exchange for 3 million acres of land in the Texas
Panhandle? The State Capitol opened on May 16, 1888. The Texas Capitol is
similar to the National Capitol in style, except it is around 7 feet taller.
The Texas Capitol is the tallest in the United States. All of the building materials
were obtained within the state. Granite was not in the original plan.
Limestone was to be used, but was later rejected when the first shipment came in, because
fool's gold was found to be in the limestone. The fool's gold rusted and ended up
badly marring the limestone. The Texas State capitol is also
the largest state capitol building in the country. Ain't it
great to be a Texan?! Everything is bigger here!!

More Texas Truths (Humorous)

Foolin' a man ain't all that hard. Finding one that ain't a fool is a lot harder.
When a cowboy gives you a key to his truck, you know you're close to winning.
You're close to winnin' the key to his heart.
A woman who intends to lean on her husband for support better be sure he stands on solid ground.
Oil all the wheels on your wagon, not just the squeaky one.
Whether a horse turns out to be a good one or a poor one pretty much depends on the intelligence of his handler.
You can't get ahead of anybody you're tryin' to get even with.
If a horse makes a few good moves on his own, he should be rewarded so that he will develop others.
If you don't get married you'll never have a good man. On the other hand, if you ain't married you don't need one.
If you wake up and find yourself a success, you ain't been asleep.
'One of these days' is 'none of these days.'
Anybody who thinks they know everything ain't been around long enough to know anything.
Some things don't need all the thought people give 'em.
