Tommy (Chris) Irvin
The 2nd CD from "the artist formerly known as Chris Irvin," entitled "The Wild One" just plain rocks. This here's one beer drinkin honky tonkin classic of a CD in the tradition of THE KING and Johnny Horton, they'd be right proud. With toe tappin tunes like "Honky Tonk Hardwood Heart" and "Everybody I Know Loves Elvis" this makes for one great CD. Of course you just can't go wrong with a song that mentions Elvis! I especially liked the title track on this CD, "The Wild One." Right from the get-go from the first song to the last, you will want to dance your ass off! Also worth notating here is the different styles on this CD from the rockabilly Elvis tune, to the bluegrass flavor that track 9, "Dog Time" has. There just was not a bad song on this CD! "The Battle of New Orleans" was a damn good Johnny Horton cover, but then again, Irvin has got Johnny Horton's style down pat. Clearly, Irvin is a talented singer/songwriter, and has another great CD with "The Wild One." Also worth checking out, if you liked this CD is his first CD (under the name Chris Irvin) entitled "Been Down That Road Before." Tommy (Chris) Irvin also puts on one hell of a show, and has another fine distinction of being a long time beer bytch approved artist since I first saw him perform at a Wed night pickin party over a year ago. Irvin was also among the first artists to be added to the Beer Bytch music page. Check out his website for more info. Irvin can also be found most Wednesday nights playin at the Lone Star Cafe Pickin Party, and Thursday nights he hosts his singer/songwriter night there as well. Tommy (Chris) Irvin has been Beer Bytch Approved for your
listening enjoyment!
