SCOTT FANT

Rural Decay

Scott Fant's new CD, "Rural Decay" is a fine mix of drinkin, truckin, leavin, dancin & train tunes.  Every song on here is a real toe-tapper from good ole honky tonkin tunes like, "Been There Done That Myself" to western swing tunes like "Swingtime."  You just can't go wrong with truckin and train tunes, and I think it's great he included both kinds on here!  I thoroughly enjoyed this CD because it mixes the best of all these sounds.  The song I liked best on here, entitled "My Home" reminded me of happy times away from the rat race in the DFW metro-mess, and of simple uncomplicated life down on the farm.  Scott captures that small town "Just Folks" flavor perfectly, just like the artists that most influenced him, namely East-Texas pickers like Ernest Tubb and Buck Owens. Scott follows their lead and delivers an honest sound that is different from so much of the "NashCrap" that you hear on the air.

Scott also puts on a good live show as well!  He can be found on occasion playin the pickin party Wednesday nights at the Lone Star Cafe.  Check him out, and get a copy of his CD!  Scott will be playing the Texas Music Nation Celebration in Rainbow, TX June 7th, 8th & 9th.
