Til you..

Snow swirling, dancing to Earth,

the warmth in your eyes like banked embers,

banishing the cold outside,

wanting to be anywhere but here,

wishing I were in your arms again,

laughing, smiling, loving, cuddled up with you,

my friend, my lover holding me  so close.

I melt like the snow falling to the ground,

Heaven on Earth is reflected in your eyes as

you kiss and caress so reverently, my

bare naked flesh.

never before been treasured......

til you.

So sick of putting my best foot forward,

only to fall on my face.

So sick of smiling my best smile,

only to discover something green in between my teeth.

Wild Child, loving woman beneath

the tough outer shell I show the world.

too easy to read my heart, it pounds, it screams

for someone to love only me.

This being alone is slowly killing me

I hide my pain and cry at night

I want to find my "Mr. Right"

I need a man to hold me tight,

Don't want no sweet talker feedin' me lies.

Don't play with my heart,

you tangle my mind.. then you run on back

to your wife.

I quit, I fold, I walk away from this

Love match that's too hard to win..

Pride has its price, I get beat down .. again.

I don't want to play this game.

There's someone for each of us "they" say...

I think they  lied.

Solitude

Old far beyond my years,

heart hardened by disappointment

strong like coffee black.

Heartbreak chips away at me,

eroding heart, scarring mind.

You never forget the hurt.

I wear it like a cloak,

pulling its darkness close

in times like these.

Getting drunk on solitude,

its bitter elixir killing me.

Life alone's a private hell akin to dying.

Drawn to fire like a moth,

love irresistible beckons,

consuming me.

Heartbreak on hold yet again...

I wait...

is it HIM?

Untitled

bitter as the night is long

when you're alone,

silence amplified speaks volumes.

These walls that protect my heart stand firm.

Wanting to fall,

to feel,

to fly

in love,

alive inside.

I sit and wait for

love to arrive.

I paint my best smile

each night,

laughing and hoping to catch his eye.

Knowing I'm too "this" or too "that"

never right,

just right now,

for you.
