3-10-06 Max Stalling @ The Horseman Club |
Max & company start with a flash and keep on burnin' clear and sharp as a knife, your foot taps, your heart beats, your throat is raw as you sing along to every song. Max could sing the phonebook and it would sound great!! His new live CD is pure greatness, but in person, Max and company can run with the best. One song after the other, these guys know how to entertain.
The new single, six inch speakers is a national anthem of the days of our youth, on the prowl for beer and a good time, looking for the next party. The new kid on the block, Jake Erwin on bass slaps them strings like a bastard red-head stepchild! Jeff Howe on drums throws himself into every song, and keeps the beat going strong. He hits every beat of every song like a well-oiled machine and keeps the band together.
These guys are having fun and it shows! Their playing is flawless. Clearly, nothing is hard for these guys, it's almost scary. Dale Clark gets better and better, each time you hear him, he never sweats a single note. Every riff is cut perfectly... By the way, if you have not heard his new CD, then shame on you! It is pure genius.. another one is in the works sometime in the not-too distant future and I for one can hardly wait!
Then there's Smooth Max... playing like he's on the front porch singing to 200 of his closest friends. If you still haven't seen Max and his band, then you clearly are missing out. Max is eternally Beer Bytch approved, and part of the Beer Bytch's eternal favorites. Need I say more?
