The crowd started off small and
picked up steam later on, but it didn’t stop them from giving their all,
having fun, and kicking out enough energy for a crowd of 1,000.
These boys have fun, pure and simple.
With a mixture of solid covers, and strong originals, they put on one
Hell of a show!
Most notable the cover of Buddy
Holly’s “Love Not Fade Away” is mind blowin’, and “Whiskey
River” shows versatility combining a country party beat with just good ole
country music, not to mention Jeff sounds an awful lot like Willie when he sings
it! He done did Willie proud.
Their slam grass rendition of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night
Long” and their cover of the Violent Femme’s tune “Blister in the
Sun” really rocked the stage! Waylon
& The General Lee would have been right proud of their version of the Dukes
of Hazard theme song.
They are always a favorite when
singin' their hit, “When The Boys Hit Town.” Their myriad of women
hatin’ songs are always good for raisin’ a beer and some hell, as well as
stompin' a foot. Of their own music, my only bitch is, I really wish they’d
tell us the name of the song before they sang it, damnit!
Copperhead is strong, foot stompin’
high powered country rock, and BB likes it!
BB also has a new favorite drinkin’ song/game when they sing
Steve Earle’s “The Devil’s Right Hand” (picture the game pass-out
in a song.) They like crowd participation a lot! This is definitely Gabe’s
forte! He starts out slow and
quiet, but by the end of the night, both him and Jeff really work the crowd!
All in all, it’s been awhile since I’ve had this much fun.
Copperhead will be back Saturday August 21st at the White Elephant Beer Gardens, so you too can check them out. Copperhead is Beer Bytch approved, (Goober liked em too!) Visit their website to see where else they will be.
