afford it. They meet in Grand Prairie and welcome anyone ages 4-94
to come clog with them. They make dancing a family affair!!!
The crowd-pleasing
Dixie Style Cloggers are drawn from throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth
Metroplex. The active, non-profit club is made up of folks who desire to
dance and promote the fun and fellowship of clogging. New members from
beginner to advanced are welcome to come out and dance for fun or join one
of the exhibition teams.

The DownHome Cloggers meet 3 times a
week for Beginners, Beginner Plus, Intermediate and Advance classes. The
directors/instructors of the group are Harold and Ellen Lane. Their
exhibition team performs all over the Northeast Texas area, at festivals,
civic clubs, reunions, store openings, school events, fairs, care centers,
etc. They enjoy entertaining and showing the audiences just what clogging
is all about. They invite you to come by and visit if you are ever in the

They are a group of ladies age 54 to
70 who love to clog! They have been together for about 6 years and perform
all over the east Texas area. They have danced at the Noonday Onion
Festival, the Cooper Chigger Fest, the Hot Pepper Festival, the Gilmer
Jamboree, etc, etc. They have also danced at Mistletoe and Magic for the past three
years. The most rewarding performing they do is for the Soroptimist Club and
with Special Olympics. Nursing homes are special to them also.
Fire on the Mountain Cloggers from San Antonio, Texas are devoted to a dance steeped in American culture and history, dedicated to preserving the traditional aspects of clogging by combining intricate footwork with lively bluegrass music. The team has performed throughout Texas and other states for over twenty-one years. International performances include shows in Munich, Germany, Caracas, Venzuela, as well as the International Cultural Festival in Xalapa, Mexico. Major performances in the United States have been Riverfest in Little Rock, Arkansas, the World's Fair in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a five-day booking at the Great American Music Festival in Branson, Missouri. They are a
traditional/precision exhibition team whose style is Southern
Appalachian (which means their footwork is with drag/slides) and the music
is fast and usually traditional instrumental (ie bluegrass, some with
Irish influence). Their current dancers range in
age from 15 to 66 (but don't let the 66 fool you). Practice time is
Thursday evenings at the Kirkwood Dance Studio on Beamer @ Fuqua in South
Houston. Class lessons are given on Monday evenings at the same location.

August and go through the next May. Some of the members of the exhibition
team are invited from these studio classes.
The Gone Kountry Cloggers Club was established January 30, 2000 and is made up mainly of Winter Texans who enjoy Clog Dancing and enjoy entertaining and sharing the heritage and this style of dancing with others. The members come from various parks in the Harlingen/San Benito area of the Rio Grande Valley.
The club was formed in June,
2002, and they perform at festivals and events in their area. They are mostly retired
folks, but do have a couple of kids in the group. Recently they held a
children's workshop for their area. Classes are on Wed. 3-4 at Holly
Hall on Holly Lake Ranch. They also practice on Monday and Friday
9-11. Martha
Hunt is the instructor.
Classes are from the middle of August through the next May. These are held on Monday evenings at Kirkwood Dance Studio located on Beamer @ Fuqua in South Houston. The studio owner is Melisa Harris. Lola's phone number is 713/621-5368.
Klassy Kloggers were organized in
1986.
The Lone Star Cloggers have been
clogging since 1997. They clog Mondays & Thursdays at 333 West
Avenue C, San Angelo, TX. Visitors are always welcome!
The Club meets on Monday's from 7:00 - 9:30 at 7:00 for Beginners, 7:45 for Intermediate, and 8:30 for Advance. They have danced at the Muenster German Festival, Six Flags over Texas at the Texas Heritage Festival, and Levisville Western Days and Old Time Christmas!
Beginning January 6, 2003, The Paris Cloggers will meet on Mondays at the YWCA office building on South Main. They will have a beginner class at 6:30 pm and the more advanced cloggers will meet at 7:30 pm. The Paris Cloggers are active in the community, dancing at many community functions including the Paris Art Fair, Tinsel and Tidings, grand openings, nursing homes, and other special requests. The Possum-Haw Cloggers are an
exhibition team formed in 1990 to preserve the heritage and art of
traditional Appalachian style clogging and mountain square dancing.
Promoting the ideals of fun, fellowship, and camaraderie through clogging,
Possum-Haw performances present a dynamic blend of traditional music and
dance including Line Exhibition, Buck & Wing, Open Precision, 4-Couple
Precision, Country Hoedown, Kentucky Running Set, Smooth Mountain Square
Dance, and Southern Appalachian Big Circle Dancing. The Possum-Haw
Cloggers were founded by Bobby and Janice Whitefield of Austin, Texas, and
are currently directed by Sandi Parriott, Leander, Texas.
Power Dance Productions is centrally located in the city of Carrollton on the NW corner of Rosemeade and N Josey Lane. Beginner/intermediate classes are on Thursday's from 6:30-7:30pm. Intermediate/advanced classes are on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45pm. They participate in the Carrollton Country Fair/Parade, Carrollton Christmas Parade/Performance, Annual Holiday Performance at The Colony High School, Denton Arts Festival, Annual Recital at The Colony High School, Local, Regional, National, and State Competitions. You will always have great fellowship and fun when attending one of our classes.
The Quickstepper cloggers have recently reinstated after a "10 year break." They dance with the Clog N Motion cloggers - director Paula Powers - on Tuesdays 7:00 at 3409 Garfield St., Wichita Falls. On Thursdays clogging is 7:00 with Rosellen at the Friberg Community Center. Friberg classes are August through May. All summer clogging is in Paula's clogging studio (aka "garage in back"). Rosellen has beginner clogging classes at the Friberg Center starting in August. They also have an "almost every month" Fun Dance at Friberg from August to May. Red River Dance Express was started with students from the local junior high in an after school program, and have since grown in number, adding elementary and high school students, teachers, parents and others wanting to join in the fun. Practice during the school year, is Wednesdays 3:30 - 4:30 for beginners and Thursdays 3:30 - 4:30 for intermediate. Within Dance Express they also have the "Sole Stompers", a soon to be competition/exhibition team.
Gloria Driver Emmert, Director of
Rhythm Cloggers, brought clogging to Texas in 1975. The club meets every
Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, at the Northwest Dance Studio
located at 3334 Pinemont, a block off Ella Blvd. This schedule is subject
to change during holidays and special clogging events. They dance for fun
and invite everyone to pay them a visit. Come sign up for the beginner and
intermediate classes at the Nacogdoches Recreation Center.

Route 66 Cloggers folded in December, 2000, and have enjoyed dancing
together for the past six years and have made a lot of great friends along
the way. Several of their members are still dancing, and they would like to
invite you to visit the other Amarillo clubs--Cadence Cloggers and Top of
Texas Cloggers.
Shelli Kruger's School of Dance and
Clogging is the only dance school teaching clogging in the Bryan/College
Station area. Classes are available for all age groups, children to
adults, and for beginners and intermediate cloggers. Classes meet at the
Jane Lee School of Dance studio, 208 Coulter in Bryan, TX. Shelli is an
experienced and enthusiastic clogger who danced with the Yellow Rose
Cloggers in Houston for many years. Classes participate in an annual
recital and perform at several functions in the B/CS area including
Festifall, Christmas in the Park and other local events. Plans are being
made to form the Aggieland Cloggers in the near future.
Show Stompers meet in Carthage, Texas at Rowe Performing Arts and Gym. They have 7 clogging classes available for all ages. Their new adult beginner class is meeting on Monday nights from 6:00-6:45. They also have beginner student classes on Tuesday from 4:15- 5:00 and Thursday from 5:00- 5:45. Other student classes include a preschool classes called Shake and Clog, Int. students on Monday from 4:15-5:00, Jr. students from 5:00- 5:45 and Sr. students on Wed. from 5:00- 5:45. They arrange the classes according to student age and years of experience.

Steppin' Xpress
Clogging Club & Exhibition Team practices in Alvarado and Burleson,
Texas on Sunday afternoons, Monday and Thursday evenings. Lessons and
performance opportunities are available for Beginner through Advanced. The Thursday evening
classes include Advanced Clogging and Irish Step Dance, Competition
Practice, with Instruction in Jazz, Swing, Lifts and Stunts. New lessons are held
in January, March and October and offer traditional clogging with blends
of Irish Steps, Jazz and Swing - something for everyone. Currently have a
clogging club and an exhibition team with members ranging from 7 years
old to 60 plus.
Dallas area clogging.
They clog on the
1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th Thursdays each month. 7-8 PM Beginners, 8-9 PM
Intermediate, 9-9:30 PM Advanced. They dance at the Chapel Hill United
Methodist Church: 12411 Templeton Trail, Farmers Branch (NW Dallas near
I-635 and Webb Chapel Rd).
The Texas Lovin' Cloggers were formed in 1986 by the late Steve Zeller. Steve's dream was to create a precision exhibition team of adult cloggers that would make Texas proud! AND HE DID IT! Texas Lovin' is proud to have attended major clogging competitions in Branson (six times), Nashville, Pigeon Forge (twice), Oklahoma (multiple times), and Las Vegas. They worked really hard to become one of the top all adult teams and are proud to have received consistent top honors in the adult age divisions as well as numerous overall Grand Champion awards. They also performed in Australia in July of 1998. The team rehearses in Houston every Monday night. They are always looking for experienced adult cloggers (18+ please) who are willing to commit to the hard work and the time involved. They are a traditional style team, but are always willing to learn something new!
Texas Tradition Cloggers offer an
evening of recreational clogging and classes every Monday. Classes are
taught by C.D. Crady & Sharon Isaac, both are Certified Clogging
Instructors and co-directors of Texas Tradition Cloggers. All ages and

On Main you will go through a light or two, cross a railroad track, then start looking for HOUSTON ST. (there is a light at this street). Take a LEFT on Houston St. On Houston go about two blocks; you will see a church and skating rink on the RIGHT. Turn into the parking lot just before the skating rink parking lot. It looks like a warehouse district. The studio is behind the church all the way to the end of the strip on the LEFT. Yellow Rose has performed on the
Grand Ole Opry, for President Bush and President Clinton, the Republican
National Convention and the Economic Summit. They have opened concerts for
Dolly Parton and Mel Tillis, represented Texas at the American Festival in
Chiba, Japan and continue to perform for National conventions booked in
Houston. YR works closely with several local booking agencies.
