BB's NDC Review

NDC's latest offering "Blame it on Blaine's" is definitely a party waitin' to happen! Of course, NDC is the ultimate party band, and any time spent with these guys with a beer or 6, and a campfire, and the party just kinda comes to life, and you can't HELP but have a good time, as I discovered with NDC guitarist & frontman Darren Morrison in Meridian.

NDC mixes the best of classic rock & country, sounding sometimes like the Rolling Stones and sometimes like Jimmy Buffet in Margaritaville. But most of the time they just sound like the Good Ole Honky Tonkin' hillbillies that they are, and it works nicely. Darren has an awesome voice for his storytelling songs. Of course their versions of "Whiskey River," "Wish you were here" and "I'll sit here and drink" are worth hearing again and again. Nicely done.

Of course, their originals rock too. I laughed my ass off at the song "I want your body," and the song "Pontotoc" is Beer Bytch approved material! It's a definite party sing along song! There's just something about the lines "Piss drunk in Pontotoc, drinkin' Lone Star and Shiner Bock, piss drunk in Pontotoc ...again" that you can't help but smile and crack the seal on a cold beer in salute to this great band for comin' up with such a neat song.

You can just feel the fun they had making this CD, because it really comes across in their music. All I know is these guys just need to come play the DFW area more often! I can only imagine what a treat a live show would be, if Meridian was any indication to me!

Do you REALLY have to ask? These guys are BEER BYTCH APPROVED!
